Shoulder Pain With KST and Laser Therapy

Shoulder pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints and can range from mild discomfort to severe limitation in movement. It may develop from injury, overuse, or wear and tear, often involving the rotator cuff, surrounding muscles, or joint structures. Because the shoulder is highly mobile, it is also more vulnerable to instability, inflammation, and compensation patterns that can worsen over time.

Using Koren Specific Technique (KST), we evaluate the shoulder by identifying underlying imbalances in the nervous system and structural alignment. Rather than focusing only on the site of pain, we assess how the shoulder is functioning in relation to the neck, upper back, and surrounding musculature.

We often find that shoulder pain is influenced by misalignments in the upper cervical spine (neck), restrictions in the upper thoracic spine (upper back), and compensation patterns affecting movement and stability. By correcting these specific imbalances, we help restore proper function and reduce strain on the shoulder joint.

In addition to precise adjustments, we utilize advanced laser therapy (see our Laser Therapy page for more details) in multiple ways to support shoulder recovery. Laser Therapy works to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote faster tissue repair.

By targeting specific areas of injury and tension, laser therapy can significantly speed up healing and improve mobility. In many cases, this approach helps patients avoid more invasive interventions- and in some situations, may help prevent the need for surgery.
