It’s that time of year again where people are starting to get that familiar tickle in their throat, their energy is starting to run low, we’re all realizing the holidays are on the way and we’re trying to stay healthy before all the bugs start making their rounds through our homes. Many people are aware of the benefits of Vitamin C to boost our immune systems, but not everyone realizes how Chiropractic care is an important preventative approach to keeping our bodies functioning at an optimal level. Our nervous system runs directly through our spine, and studies have shown that nerve stimulation directly affects the growth of inflammatory cells, in turn influencing our nervous, endocrine and immune systems. Simply stated, when our bodies fail to properly communicate with our bodily systems, we become more susceptible to viruses, bacteria and other illnesses that it can normally fight off.
We also have to do our part, this means continuing to get our proper intake of vegetables, avoiding sugar, drinking half our body weight in water and getting adequate rest. Our health is not a gift, it’s a responsibility.
